Raleigh photographer J's interest in photography started in his first year as a graduate student in entomology. His early subjects were insect photography, flower photography, plants photography, and nature photography. He gave numerous photography presentations on scientific illustrations and digital photography at the international conferences. He served as one of leading judges for the insect photography competitions for North Carolina Entomological Society and NCMVCA. Styles of J. Kim’s wedding photography are documentary and photojournalistic. Photographer J also twists his style to fit a fashion and fine art with enhanced images. How to choose your wedding photographer (J’s personal view) Price: What are the prices of J’s wedding photography packages? It starts from $2000 with an album. For details, please email J with information on wedding date and time, number of guests, and requested hours of wedding photography service. Can we exclude albums from your packages of wedding photography? Yes, you can. For this custom package, please contact us. Can J have a package with a photo CD? Yes. However, there will be an extra charge for a photo CD. In short, you may pay at least $1,000 for a reliable and experienced wedding photographer in Raleigh and RTP area. To determine your budget, you need to decide on your preferred style, length of ceremony, length of reception, bridal portraits, engagement session, and getting-ready duration. Other factors can be total number of guests and travel distance among venues. Some photographers may charge you differently based on a time of the day and a day of the week. If your wedding starts on early Saturday or on Friday, you may receive a discount on your wedding photography. The price differences among wedding photographers are almost extreme. Why? Photographer's experience, total hours of photographic service, image editing time, and the size of chosen package will be a part of the charge. Photographers' business expenses also includes many undisclosed items, such as monthly rent fees, advertisement, insurance, computer and camera equipments, equipment upgrade and rentals, software, membership fees, workshops and their continuing education and travels. If there are high market demands for a specific photographer, his or her price of wedding coverage will set a high standard. As you can tell, highly sought-after photographers are very artistic. They can be booked even a year before a wedding date. Therefore, if you have a particular photographer in mind, you need to book one at least 9-12 months prior to your wedding event. We believe most of the wedding photography prices are ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. Hours of service and features of the wedding photography package may vary based on the size of wedding. Photography is about controlling time, light, and subjects. If you find images you like from photographer's extensive portfolios, you can start to negotiate with the photographers for a better package. Quality of images is one of the most critical factors for you to consider choosing a wedding photographer. Look for wedding photographers you like.
